High Testosterone

You know low testosterone is a condition no man wants to suffer from, yet millions upon millions do. Increasingly every year we are hearing more and more about low levels of this primary androgen of immense anabolic power, but what about high testosterone? Outside of performance based circles, you won't hear much about high testosterone, and if you do it's generally very biased, and draped in statements of hate and fear. Let's be clear, the effects of high testosterone are the direct inverse of low testosterone; end of story, thanks for reading. OK, fine, we can go a little deeper than that, and to cover this thoroughly we want to dispel the myths regarding high levels and leave you with only the truth. Some of the myths regarding high testosterone will be provided by those of the anti-steroid nature, while others will be those held by many in the pro-steroid camp. In either case, lets dive in and see what we can find.

• Myth: High testosterone levels will not significantly enhance athletic performance.
• Truth: This is a ridiculous statement, but it is one the anti-steroid camp has for years tried their best to deem as truth; after all, if true no one would want to supplement. At any rate, testosterone is both highly anabolic and androgenic, and by its very nature will tremendously increase muscle tissue mass and strength when high levels are present.

• Myth: High testosterone levels will cause "Roid Rage."
• Truth: Again, often a smoking gun by the anti-steroid crowd, but it proves to be nothing but smoke. Numerous studies have shown "Roid Rage" to be a myth. Yes, testosterone has a role to play on the brain, but even in high levels it cannot affect your thought process, it cannot take away free will or bring about anger that wasn't already there. Absolutely, high testosterone levels can increase aggression, but aggression in of itself is not a bad thing; what we do with our aggression is what makes it right or wrong. At any rate, in a 1996 study done by the New England Journal of Medicine, using supraphysiological doses of testosterone the study determine there were no changes in mood or behavior in the mood inventory portion of the test. Numerous other studies have concluded the same, often stating any direct mental effects caused by high levels were either too small to measure or non-existent.

• Myth: High testosterone levels can make you fat.
• Truth: This is a ridiculous myth purported by many on popular steroid message boards. In many cases, the individual will supplement with large amounts of testosterone, gain a lot of fat and of course, blame the testosterone. This is ridiculous because testosterone promotes a more powerful metabolic rate; a more powerful metabolism does not promote fat gain. If you have high testosterone levels and you're gaining fat, you are simply eating too much. This isn't rocket science, but it's a truth that often escapes many.

• Myth: High testosterone levels will cause massive amounts of water retention.
• Truth: High testosterone levels can cause massive water retention, the key word being "can" not "will." As testosterone aromatizes it will convert into estrogen, and as estrogen levels increase water retention follows. With this increase in estrogen, you will be more sensitive to water retention; further meaning overeating will cause a problem even more so than normal. In any case, water retention can be controlled, but there are key factors you must understand. First and foremost, the first line of defense is an Aromatase Inhibitor, as this will prevent the conversion to estrogen and even lower total estrogen levels. Further, we must take into account the total dosing and individual response to the hormone and high levels. The higher the dose, the more there is to convert, and some will tolerate a higher dose while others only tolerate a lower dose; you must find the right dose for you, one that promotes the desired end while minimizing this negative effect. With all of this in mind, you can control water retention with high testosterone levels.

• Myth: High testosterone levels can be obtained without the use of anabolic steroids.
• Truth: We can increase our natural testosterone production without anabolic steroids; this is true, but high levels are another story. Foods such as red meat, whole eggs, nuts and peanut butter will increase natural production, as will ensuring you get plenty of rest each and every night. Of course, then there are the many over the counter testosterone boosters available, and while all of these things can increase levels, combined it is highly unlikely you'll have high testosterone levels. There are only two true ways to reach a high level; with direct use of exogenous testosterone or through the total testosterone replacement supplement Testerone. Exogenous testosterone will simply provide a synthetic version of the hormone, thereby increasing levels. Testerone will work directly with your natural androgen production making it more efficient, thereby increasing total testosterone levels.
